STILL LIFE [NATURE MORTE] is a process of finding out which attempts to illustrate the narrow ties linking nature, animals and humans. The point here is equally to denounce the lack of respect towards this environment, where our immoderate style of consumption exhausts our natural resources, while we kill off its occupants. A society in which evolution has morphed into regression, whose gains are sweeping it away toward its downfall, a bottomless abyss where ever so gently everything is dying out.

Through the use of tree-ends as a subject (our earth's roots and lungs) I create my compositions. From dry and gnarly pieces of bark, as if by magic, animals and beings appear out of the hollows of branches.

NATURE MORTE est une recherche qui veut illustrer l’étroitesse des liens entre la nature, les bêtes et les humains. Il est également question ici de dénoncer le manque de respect envers cet environnement, où notre façon démesurée de consommer épuise les ressources naturelles et tue ses occupants. Une société où l’évolution se transforme en régression, où nos acquis nous transportent vers notre perte, un gouffre sans fond où tout doucement tout se meurt.

C’est en utilisant des bouts d’arbres comme sujet (racines et poumons de notre terre) que je crée mes compositions. Des morceaux d’écorces secs et noueux où, comme par magie, des animaux et des personnages apparaissent au creux des branches.
